8 June 2017 - The USAID-funded Systems for Improved Access to Pharmaceuticals and Services (SIAPS) Program announced the launch of the QuanTB eCourse - a free, self-paced course for health professionals using QuanTB.
QuanTB is a downloadable, electronic forecasting, quantification, and early warning tool designed to improve procurement processes, ordering, and planning for TB treatment. QuanTB transforms complicated calculations into a user-friendly dashboard displaying key information for managing medicines and can help countries avoid potential expiries and stock-outs of medicines. As of 2017, QuanTB has been downloaded by almost 70% of all countries in the world.
The eCourse is available on Leadernet.org. The goal of this course is to strengthen learners’ skills for appropriate quantification of first- and second-line medicines and other TB commodities to ensure an uninterrupted supply in national TB programs (NTPs).
The course includes two modules with interactive video demonstrations and knowledge checks. The first module is designed as a refresher and provides relevant background information on general quantification. The second module focuses on the use of the QuanTB tool. The full course will take you approximately 5 hours to complete. A certificate will be provided for those who complete the full course.
