More than 350 individuals and organizations sign Zero Declaration on TB

A group of activists, researchers, policy makers and others working to stop tuberculosis (TB) have created the Zero Declaration, a call for zero TB deaths, zero TB infections and zero TB suffering.

Since its launch in July, the declaration has gained more than 350 signatures from individuals and organizations.

The group that drafted the declaration say that it is based on three realities: TB is preventable and curable; the main driver of today’s unnecessary TB deaths is a lack of political will; and every country in the world has the potential to reach the goals set out in the declaration.

The campaign website calls for global action and a new global attitude in the fight against TB. In particular, political will and commitments are needed to implement universal access to high-quality testing, care, and treatment for TB and increase investment in TB research and development.
