A new Kaiser Family Foundation primer "provides a comprehensive overview of the U.S. government's engagement in global health issues, including a look at the federal programs that support these efforts," according to an email alert from the foundation. "The 'U.S. Government Engagement In Global Health: A Primer' provides basic information about global health challenges and a brief history of the evolving response from the U.S. government and the world"; "describes the U.S. agencies and programs involved in global health and the federal budget supporting these efforts, including regional and country breakouts"; and "explores how the U.S. engages with multilateral organizations, such as the World Health Organization and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria," the alert states (2/1).
