Call to action on addressing TB in women living with HIV
The International Community of Women Living with HIV (ICW) calls for the global TB response to address TB in women living with HIV.
The statement, titled
AT THE INTERSECTION: Women Living with HIV and
Tuberculosis,
highlights the status of TB and offers recommendations for
addressing tuberculosis in women and girls living with HIV.
TB
disproportionately impacts the poorest and most marginalized
women and their families in the world. Yet, just like HIV TB
remains a highly stigmatized disease and women in particular
face high burden of its impact, particularly women and girls
living with HIV.
