Reaching for the Stars: Stop TB Partnership announces call for the 2017 Kochon Prize nominations for TB researchers and developers
6 November 2017 – Geneva, Switzerland – Stop TB Partnership is pleased to announce the call for the 2017 Kochon Prize. This year we are celebrating the TB research and development community.
Advancements and investments in scientific research to enhance and transform the way TB is diagnosed, treated, and prevented is critical to halt the spread of TB. With the recent release of the 2017 Global Tuberculosis Report and in the lead up to the UN High-Level Meeting on TB in 2018, accelerating access and uptake of existing TB products and technologies and catalyzing research and development of new, game-changing TB diagnostics, drugs, and vaccines is now a matter of immense urgency.
The 2017 Kochon Prize will therefore recognize and pay tribute
to the people and organizations who dare to push the scientific
boundaries and reach for the targets set forth in the Global
Plan to End TB and the End TB Strategy. Their commitment and
perseverance to TB research and development is and will change
the world, but, more importantly, change the lives of the people
and communities affected by TB.
