Understanding tuberculosis (TB) diagnosis is critical to
understanding why the world is currently failing to end TB.
Nearly half of people with TB—over 4 million per
year—are undiagnosed, leaving them ill and at risk of
death and with the potential to transmit disease to others.
Closing this massive gap will require much better use of the
current diagnostic methods, as well as research into faster,
simpler, more accurate, and less expensive options.
