Webinar: Demanding a higher standard of TB care in EECA
On Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 8:00 AM EDT / 2:00 PM CEST, Treatment Action Group (TAG) and TB Europe Coalition (TBEC) will co-host a webinar, “Demanding a Higher Standard of TB Care in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA).”
The webinar will mark the launch of TAG’s TB
Activist’s Guides recently translated to Russian,
An Activist’s Guide to Tuberculosis Diagnostic
Tools,
An Activist’s Guide to Treatment for Drug-Resistant
Tuberculosis, and
An Activist’s Guide to Rifapentine for the Treatment
of TB Infection.
Years of investments in research are finally
bearing benefits, including improved diagnosis for TB and
drug-resistance closer to the point of care; injectable-free,
shorter treatment regimens; and shorter and easier-to-complete
TB preventive therapy regimens. Now more than ever, activist
leadership is needed to close TB diagnosis, treatment, and
prevention gaps.
The webinar will highlight TB policy
and practice gaps in the EECA region and how the
Activist’s Guides can be used by community leaders to
advocate for improved access to the latest TB diagnostic,
treatment, and prevention tools in the EECA region.
This
webinar will be held in English and Russian.
