The Stop TB Partnership launched the call for nominations for
the Community Award 2023 under the theme -
Serving the most vulnerable: Increasing access to TB services
for key and vulnerable populations.
Each year, the Stop TB Partnership
recognizes significant contributions from TB-affected
communities and civil society to the TB response in high TB
burden settings, with the Stop TB Partnership Community
Award.
Over the last four years, this
recognition has been for community-led monitoring, community
mobilization for human rights, stigma, grassroots peer support,
and TB community resilience in the face of COVID-19.
This
year the focus is on increasing access to TB services for key
and vulnerable populations (KVPs). In this context, it is
essential to prioritize, reach, and involve key and vulnerable
populations, aligning with the Global Plan to End TB 2023-2030,
specifically Chapter 7, which highlights the importance of human
rights, stigma reduction, addressing gender disparities, and
enhancing support for key and vulnerable populations.
In addition, as of 2024 the Stop TB
Partnership Board will include two seats to be occupied by
members of the newly established TB Key and Vulnerable
Populations constituency, in order to ensure these important
voices are represented at the highest level.
As
such, it makes perfect sense within this exceptional focus on
KVP, to have the Stop TB Community Award centered on
organizations that are working towards ensuring that people with
any vulnerability have access to TB services.
Full details about the nomination process are available
here.
The call for nominations is open until
1 December 2023.
