WHO issues a series of public calls for TB data
Call for case studies and best practices on addressing TB in prisons
The World Health Organization (WHO) invites country officials,
UN agencies, technical partners, and other governmental and
non-governmental stakeholders within and beyond the health
sector involved in the provision of health services within
prison settings to submit examples of relevant case studies and
best practices. WHO is in the process of updating its guidance
on TB in prisons.
Deadline for submissions: 30 September 2024

Public call for data to inform an update of WHO guidance on IGRAs for detection of TB infection
WHO appeals to national TB programs, implementers, industry,
researchers, manufacturers and other agencies to provide
suitable evidence on the use of interferon-gamma release assays
(IGRAs) for detection of TB infection. WHO plans to update its
guidance on use of IGRAs for detection of TB infection.
Deadline for submissions: 30 September 2024

Public call for data on targeted next-generation sequencing solutions for detection of drug resistance among people diagnosed with TB
WHO appeals to industry, researchers, national TB programs and
other agencies to provide suitable evidence on the performance
of targeted next-generation sequencing technologies as an option
for rapid, accurate genetic analysis and detection of genetic
mutations to diagnose resistance to TB medicines. Such data will
facilitate the WHO update within the scope of the current
policy.
Deadline for submissions: 30 September 2024

Call for data for the third edition of the WHO TB Mutation Catalogue
WHO is continuing the process of updating the TB Mutation
Catalogue with a primary focus to collect TB genotypic and
phenotypic data sets with known resistance or susceptibility to
the new and repurposed TB therapeutics: bedaquiline, linezolid,
and delamanid. If you are interested in joining the global
effort to improve drug resistant TB diagnosis, consider
providing genomic and phenotypic data for the third edition of
the TB Mutation Catalogue through the WHO TB sequencing
portal.
Deadline for submissions: 15 October 2024
