11 June 2017- Ghana aims to end Tuberculosis (TB) and it related lung diseases by 2030, with the introduction of a new sophisticated diagnostic technology known as the GeneXpert by the end of the year.

Kenya’s health ministry is carrying out a tuberculosis prevalence survey that will determine the accurate burden of TB in Kenya and inform policy formulation.

With 574,600 cases or 338 per 100,000 of the 170 million population, Nigeria has the third highest TB burden in the world. Worse even, 22% of the TB patients also carry the HIV virus that causes AIDS.
