Montreal, November 1st, 2021 - Regular community-wide screening for active and latent tuberculosis (TB) appears to be cost-effective in Inuit communities with high TB rates and is recommended to help reduce outbreaks, according to new research published today in CMAJ (Canadian Medical Association Journal). The study was led by Dr. Kevin Schwartzman, Director of the Division of Respiratory Medicine at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and Senior Scientist in the Translational Research in Respiratory Diseases Program at the Research Institute of the MUHC (RI-MUHC).

All people who wish to contribute are invited to complete the survey - you do not have to have experience of a skin test yourself. Of particular interest are the views of people with TB, health providers and others involved in TB care such as lab technicians and TB program managers.
