TOKYO — The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria applauds Japan’s latest contribution of US$339.3 million to the Global Fund, signaling strong leadership in global health by Japan.

NEW DELHI, 8 January 2019 – At the kick-off meeting of the Global Fund’s Sixth Replenishment, leaders, global health organizations, civil society groups and people affected by the diseases vowed collective action to end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria and accelerate progress toward universal health coverage.

PARIS, 11 January 2019 – The Global Fund today announced its fundraising target for the next three-year cycle, outlining how a minimum of US$14 billion will help save 16 million lives, cut the mortality rate from HIV, TB and malaria in half, and build stronger health systems by 2023. The summary of the Sixth Replenishment Investment Case describes what can be achieved by a fully funded Global Fund, the new threats facing global health progress today, and the risks if we don’t step up the fight now.

The World Health Organization and the Global Fund today signed a Global Strategic Framework as a foundation for closer collaboration, based on respective mandates and strengths, and with commitment toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. It was signed by Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of WHO, and Peter Sands, Executive Director of the Global Fund.

The report shows tremendous progress that has been achieved by efforts to end the epidemics, while highlighting new threats.

Geneva, 16 July 2018 – The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (the Global Fund) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) met Monday to announce a collaboration agreement focused on providing better care to individuals and communities burdened by these diseases in hard-to-reach conflict-affected areas and detention centres.

18 December 2017 - Geneva, Switzerland -- A new Strategic Initiative agreement signed today between the Stop TB Partnership and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria will see the Partnership contribute towards reaching an additional 1.5 million people with TB by 2019 that are currently missed by health systems. The agreement is part of TB Catalytic Funding where a similar agreement was signed with WHO on 1 December, 2017. Under this collaboration, and using lessons learned from different initiatives especially TB REACH, the Stop TB Partnership will work with National TB Programs and partners in order to ensure that everyone with TB is reached with quality services and receive proper treatment and care through reducing barriers, development and scale-up of innovative tools and approaches in service delivery as well as through experience sharing.

01 December 2017 | GENEVA - The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund) extended their close partnership with a new cooperation agreement to help countries accelerate efforts to end the tuberculosis (TB) epidemic by 2030. The overall agreement includes financing support for all three diseases - HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria, as part of efforts to achieve universal health coverage.
