Higher funding for TB research signals hope, but governments must dramatically increase spending to end TB.

Two unprecedented political opportunities are rapidly approaching– the Global Ministerial Conference and the UN High-Level Meeting on TB. Civil society and community groups have a critical role to play in raising the profile and understanding of the issues we face in TB among government officials and ensuring that the commitments they make at high-level meetings are translated into urgent investments and actions.

Treatment Action Group (TAG) and the Global Coalition of TB Activists (GCTA) will host a webinar on 25 October 2017 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM EEST on how civil society and community groups can initiate a dialogue with their national governments in advance of the Global Ministerial Conference on TB in Moscow to be held on 16-17 November 2017. Panelists will debut new, community-developed outreach tools and share strategies to maintain an open channel for communication and accountability in the lead up to the UN High-Level Meeting on TB in 2018 and beyond.

Reframing risk and accountability for action to zero TB is a symposium organized by Treatment Action Group, Advanced Access & Delivery, Partners in Health, Harvard Medical School, and the Stop TB Partnership.

The 2017 update to the TB/HIV Activist Toolkit modules, developed by Treatment Action Group, continues to build and provide fundamental information about TB in order to strengthen global advocacy and scientific literacy around TB and TB/HIV.

Treatment Action Group and global partners will host a webinar on 3 October 2017, at 8:30 am ET, on urging policymakers and funders to procure and implement the TB LAM test.

The guide provides important messaging and strategies to support advocacy and activism for access to LAM testing, the only point-of-care TB diagnostic test overall that has a proven impact on reducing TB deaths in people with HIV.

11 August 2017 - As we embark on the road to the United Nations High Level Meeting (UNHLM) on TB, the Stop TB Partnership, in collaboration with APCASO and Treatment Action Group (TAG), hosted a global meeting from 29-30 July, where more than 60 community and civil society advocates from 32 countries strategized on advocacy priorities promoting community-led, people-centered, rights-based and gender transformative approaches to end TB.

TB advocates urge the Kenyan Division of Leprosy, Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (DLTLD) to introduce a new, simple, and rapid TB test, TB LAM, which detects TB antigens in urine, and is an important tool for detecting TB in certain populations living with HIV.
