20 August 2018 | GENEVA - Stop TB Partnership launched today a new online and interactive platform as part of the Strategic Initiative to Find the Missing People with Tuberculosis (TB). The platform is available at http://stoptb-strategicinitiative.org/. The new interactive platform is part of joint efforts among Stop TB Partnership, The Global Fund to Fight, AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and the World Health Organization (WHO) to improve TB case detection, notification and treatment. It is designed to display new information and learnings, experiences and best practices that implementers and partners acquire as they boost their efforts.

27 July 2018 I Geneva, Switzerland - TB 2018 was held ahead of the 22^nd International AIDS Conference, AIDS 2018. TB 2018  was co-hosted by the International AIDS Society, the Stop TB Partnership and USAID. It was well-attended with eminent speakers including His Excellency, Aaron Motsoaledi (South African Health Minister and Chair of Stop TB Partnership), His Excellency Yusuf Shaikh (Federal Minister of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination, Pakistan), William Steiger (Chief of Staff of USAID), Eric Goosby (UN Special Envoy on TB), Yogan Pillay (Deputy Director-General for Health in South Africa), Peter Sands (Executive Director of Global Fund), Soumya Swaminathan (Deputy Director General of WHO) and a number of TB survivors.

The cost of bedaquiline drops to 400 USD/6-month treatment course, effective immediately and will be made available for all TB programs procuring from the Stop TB Partnership’s Global Drug Facility (GDF).

9 July 2018, Tokyo, Japan – The Stop TB Partnership and Mitsubishi UFJ Research and Consulting Co., Ltd. (MURC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at MURC’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan on 6 July 2018. The MOU represents a critical milestone for the tuberculosis (TB) community, as it contributes to strengthening and accelerating private sector engagement in the fight against TB and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. In particular, this partnership exemplifies a deepening and forward-looking private sector commitment in the lead up to the United Nations High-Level Meeting (UN HLM) on TB.
