To commemorate the International Women's Day, 8 March 2021, the World Health Organization and the Global Coalition of TB Activists conducted a webinar, #ChooseToChallenge: A Gender-Sensitive & Equitable Response to End TB.

The World Health Organization (WHO) will host a webinar on 16 March 2021 to provide an overview of planned updates to WHO TB policy guidance in 2021, promote an exchange of views on how to effectively address emerging needs of Member States for policy, and deliberate on key actions needed to enhance the implementation and evaluation of global TB policy guidance.

The World Health Organization (WHO) 2020 Global TB Report app is now available for free download in Spanish. The app is also available in English, French and Russian.

To mark International Women’s Day, the World Health Organization and the Global Coalition of TB Activists will host a webinar on 8 March 2021, #ChooseToChallenge: A Gender-Sensitive & Equitable Response to End TB. It will explore barriers and will envisage solutions for seeking equitable health care for women and gender inclusivity in the global response to end TB.

17 February 2021 | GENEVA - Significant advances to the diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) and drug resistance in adults, adolescents and children are expected, following key updates on new molecular assays, announced by the World Health Organization (WHO) in a Rapid Communication released today.

The World Health Organization Global TB Program is inviting young people aged 15-34 to join an online consultation to contribute to the development of a special training course to build the capacity of youth to join the fight to end TB. 

5 February 2021 | GENEVA - The critical concentrations for culture-based phenotypic drug susceptibility testing (DST) to first-line anti-TB drugs have been revised by the the World Health Organization (WHO). Critical concentrations for rifampicin have been lowered while those for isoniazid have been maintained at the present level. This update helps address the discordance observed between phenotypic and molecular methods to detect rifampicin resistance and improves the accuracy of DST. As a result patients with TB will have a more accurate  diagnosis.
