Aidspan launches its open data platform (post)
Aidspan has made public its data platform, the Aidspan Portal Workbench (APW). The APW is a flexible and powerful web-based application which retrieves grant portfolio data from the web services provided by the Global Fund and then makes the data available in a user-friendly way. 25 June 2015 - In March 2015, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), ACTION Global Health Advocacy Partnership, SWIFT Response Project, Treatment Action Campaign (TAC), Treatment Action Group (TAG) and 84 other organisations issued a call to action urging global health actors and the TB community to form a consortium with the objective of meeting time-bound, concrete targets for scaling up use of new drugs in DR-TB treatment.
MSF: TPP negotiators must fix the most damaging trade agreement ever for global health (post)
Maui/New York, July 24, 2015—Trade negotiators must remove damaging access to medicines provisions in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal or risk locking in high drug prices and endangering the health of millions of people for decades to come, said the medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) as negotiations resumed in Maui, Hawaii, today. MSF’s call comes as reports indicate that this could be the last negotiation before the agreement is concluded.

Health organizations, public health experts and patient groups have asked the government to take action to reduce the risk of healthcare workers from contracting tuberculosis at Mumbai-based Sewri Hospital - Asia's largest TB hospital. This comes in the wake of the recent death of a senior doctor who died of a potent form of multi- drug-resistant TB, falling prey to the infection which he reportedly acquired at the hospital.
