Highlights from the 51th Union World Conference on Lung Health (post)
The 51th Union World Conference on Lung Health was held this year virtully due to the COVID-19 pandemic on 20-24 October under the theme Advancing Prevention. The Union World Conference is world’s largest gathering of clinicians and public health workers, health programme managers, policymakers, researchers and advocates working to end the suffering caused by lung disease, with a focus specifically on the challenges faced by low- and lower-middle income populations.

The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) released its October 2020 newsletter, summarizing the initiatives and activities carried out during the month. An overview of the scientific and community program of the 51st Union World Conference on Lung Health is available here. All registered delegates have access to all conference sessions and e-posters on demand until 30 November. The Union has also made publicly available the mid-term report of the impact of COVID-19 on TB case detection and treatment and HIV testing, diagnosis and care in the capital cities of Kenya, Malawi and Zimbabwe.
