24 June 2016 - Nairobi, Kenya – The Stop TB Partnership, in collaboration with KELIN and the International Human Rights Clinic at University of Chicago Law School, held a regional workshop on 24-25 June to promote the use of rights-based and community initiatives in TB work. The event, "TB, Human Rights and the Law", brought together 70 participants, including judges from countries in West, South, and East Africa as well as India and Australia; TB survivors; and legal, medical and public health experts to discuss the relationship between human rights, TB, and the law.

24 June 2016 - Manila, Philippines - Thirty-eight members representing TB communities from 21 countries met in Manila during a workshop aimed to build the capacity of tuberculosis (TB) representatives and advocates to effectively represent their constituencies in their CCMs. The workshop focused on the need to change the approach for impactful action, strongly underlining that the WHO End TB strategy milestones will be missed if current efforts continue without a paradigm shift as articulated by the Stop TB Partnership’s Global Plan to End TB 2016-2020.

The Stop TB Partnership signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to optimize access to TB health products and pharmaceutical services in countries receiving Global Fund financing for TB.

The Stop TB Partnership currently has three vacancies available.

A 5-year award of CA$85 million will support innovations in TB detection and care through the Stop TB Partnership's TB REACH initiative.

The Stop TB Partnership released a series of briefs on TB key populations recognizing that reaching everyone with services, diagnostics, treatment and care is essential to ending the TB epidemic. The briefs focus on children, miners, mobile populations, urban populations, prisoners, rural populations and people who use drugs.

Linezolid is a critical component of regimens used to treat multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB). The GDF-negotiated price reduction is projected to save up to US$ 30 million over the next three years, helping to further improve equitable access to MDR-TB treatment.

The Zero Draft 2016 Political Declaration released ahead of the United Nations High-Level Meeting on Ending AIDS contains ambitious commitments to put the world on track to end AIDS and TB by 2030.
